Blogs don't build businesses. SBI! does.

WordPress is an ideal platform for blogs. In most cases, it's a quick setup. It manages chronological content and organizes it for display on a Web page.

But, where's the rest?

o Keyword research to find your perfect niche (Brainstorm It!.)

o Getting your on-page criteria right (Analyze It!.)

o Building optimized internal linking AND a built-in method of securing external links.

o Traffic building.

o PREselling through your own e-zine.

o Monetization!

And this is just the tip of the iceberg!

If you want to build an online business that generates traffic and income, WordPress is a dead end for most.

To make the most of the new landing page, THIS is how you should PREsell...

As we've said, WordPress doesn't build e-businesses. Start your PREselling by explaining exactly where WordPress falls short.

Check out the new landing page...

http://wordpress-or-sbi.sitesell.com/#COMPARE

Here's a straight side-by-side comparison (19 separate points!) of SBI! and WordPress. Copy/paste any one or all of these to illustrate the "WordPress Gap."

And just below it is another valuable table...

http://wordpress-or-sbi.sitesell.com/#EXPOSED

Here we dispel the myth of "free is better" when it comes to free software. Again, use any of these to shed light on some WordPress "urban myths." ;-)

1) SBI! eLearning Re-Launches!
All New Pricing Makes It Accessible To Everyone!
Yesterday, we flipped the switch on a brand new way to introduce visitors to SBI! eLearning. Actually, they are not two different “types” of PR, let me explain…

The Google Toolbar PR is what we see in the Google Toolbar, if you have it installed and enabled, that shows a reading of that particular pages rank, as seen by Google. This is supposedly a reading of the actual PR and it’s updated roughly every 3 months or so. (Updates normally take place every 2 to 4 months.) However, it isn’t an accurate reading of a sites authority on a page by page basis in most cases, although it can be useful when looking at the average toolbar pagerank of a range of pages!

The actual PR is updated very frequently. I couldn’t begin to tell you exactly when it’s updated, nor could anyone else other than a select few at Google, but it’s updated much more frequently than the toolbar PR.

Many new marketers believe that when the toolbar PR updates their sites will either gain visitors or lose visitors. This is simply not true.

The only update that Google does that will increase or decrease your site visitors is their algorithm updates, which are done just about every day. The algorithm is the extremely complex formula that Google uses to rank Website pages. Also, each page within a Website is looked at, not the Website as a whole.

But, how your site pages rank once they do an algorithm update will be determined by the actual PageRank of each individual page.

Alexa Traffic Ranking

This is the ranking that is provided by Alexa.com. This is based on the actual traffic going to a Website whereas Google PR is calculated mainly by the number and quality of inbound links to a specific page and not traffic.

The ranking is done with numbers as the Website with the most traffic on the Internet (currently Yahoo) would have a traffic ranking of 1 and those with very little traffic would be in the millions.

The Alexa traffic ranking has a reputation for being inaccurate. But, generally a Website with an Alexa traffic ranking of 50,000 or less receives quite a bit of traffic.

The Alexa ranking is based off the figures they collect from those who have their toolbar installed. This is why you’ll notice many technology and Internet Marketing related sites with higher Alexa rankings. It’s another reason why it’s known to be inaccurate. However, I would look at a sites Alexa ranking as a sign of authority before I would look at a pages toolbar PR as a sign of authority.

How to get noticed on the web!

Lot's of things are going to change here real soon. Financial security.

Creating your own business can be much more financially secure than having a job. At a job, all of your income is in one basket, which is the farthest thing from financial security that I can think of. Many people with jobs live in endless fear of losing them, because if they did the money just stops coming. If you screw up, or say the wrong thing, poof! There goes all of your income, your benefits, and sometimes your social life all at once.

2. Diversified income streams.

When you have your own business, you can concentrate on having diversified income streams. A job pays you all at once, and if you lose it all of your money goes away. With a minimalist business, you can develop variable income sources. If one dries up, the others still thrive. Some income will be small and occasional, other income will be large and regular. The most important aspect is that it’s all coming from different sources, and nothing can go wrong with them all at once, like when you have a job.

3. Contribute value to your legacy.

When you have a job, you’re contributing value to the legacy of an organization that is bigger than you. That usually means that the legacy is separate from your own. Yes, you can create great work at a company, but chances are you won’t be bragging about the stunning TPS report design you did at company X to your grandchildren. When you create your own business, you’re contributing value to your own lasting legacy.

4. Live anywhere.

When you create your own business, especially on the Internet, you can live anywhere in the world. For instance, last week I moved from Brooklyn, NY to Oakland, CA. I never could have done that if I had to go into an office, because they would decide where I lived. Some job markets are stronger than others. In my experience, strong job markets usually coincide with expensive or crappy living conditions. By freeing yourself from location, and not having a job, you can live anywhere in the world. A great resource for learning to live anywhere is Karol Gajda’s How to Live Anywhere, coming June 8th.

5. Unlimited vacation.

Face it, two weeks of vacation a year is a crime. Whoever decided people should work 50 weeks out of the year was absolutely insane. How this was adopted as an industry standard is beyond me. When you create your own business, you can develop a more flexible vacation schedule. 25 weeks a year? Go for it!

6. Choose your own path.

When you have a job, chances are you’ll be told exactly what to do every day. Handle this client, print that TSP report, sit at your desk for 8-10 hours a day! When you create your own business, you can choose your own path. Obviously, this also means that you can choose the wrong one. But in my experience, even the wrong paths are much more interesting than sitting at a desk all day. Yes, you’ll make mistakes. Yes, it isn’t easy. But wouldn’t you rather have an exciting life than a dull one under fluorescent lights?

7. Flexible schedule.

One of the best reasons not to have a job is having a flexible schedule. At a job you have to be there Mon-Fri 9-5, or something like that. When you create your own job, you can work when you’re most productive. Some people work best in the middle of the night, others work best in the afternoons. I’ve found that I can usually create quality material in a few hours every week, freeing myself to do other things that matter to me, like practicing Yoga.

8. Avoid reactionary workflow.

There’s an always-on mentality that is quickly coming to dominate our society. We feel like we must be on our crackberries and iPhones every single hour of the day, just in case something happens. The reality is that nothing important really happens, our minds only make it that way. When you don’t have a job, no one will force you to answer your email in the middle of the night. This frees you up to focus on the work that matters, and creating powerful passive income streams.

9. You don’t have to conform to other people’s expectations.

It’s no secret that one of my favorite small business writers is Chris Guillebeau, who writes The Art of Non-conformity, and his small business guide The Unconventional Guide to Working For Yourself. We often forget how weird it is to opt-out of the the idea of having a job, but it is pretty strange for a lot of people. The best part of not having a job is that you don’t have to conform to other people’s expectations. You can be weird if you want to be, and no one will fire you for it. The funny thing is, weird is one of the best niches to set up your small business in — there’s too much regular out there already.

10. Making money in your sleep.

Oh, have I mentioned when you start your own online business, there’s a very real possibility that you’ll make money in your sleep? Well, there is. There’s nothing like checking your email (once a day) and seeing that you made all the income you need to survive using automated means while you were taking a snooze. It’s definitely worth quitting your job to experience that freedom.

11. Freedom to be a leader.

Jobs are built around conformity, that’s why everyone is expected to wear ‘work appropriate clothing’ that they purchased at J. Crew. What does conformity do? It makes it possible for upper management to keep the lower levels in line, on task, and compliant. When you opt out of having a job, it frees you to be a leader. A leader has to stand out, and have vision. A leader has to show people the way by telling the truth as it is. The truth is that business casual isn’t something you have to subject yourself.

12. Choose work that excites you.

Most jobs are made up of mundane activities that someone higher up in the food chain asked you to do. File that TPS, buddy, or you’re going to be stuck in middle-management forever! When you don’t have a job, you can choose work that excites you. Do you want to create a product that teaches people how to live a passionate life, like my friend Henri Juntilla? Go for it!

13. Surround yourself with people you care about.

When you have a job, someone else chooses who you spend your time with during 60% of your life. In some of these cases, you’re stuck with people who you don’t particularly care for. These might be company lifers, or dead-eyed soul-sucked individuals who opted out of living life years ago. When you work for yourself, you can pick your own social circle. As my friend Glen Allsopp likes to mention, you’re going to be as successful as your social circle. So pick people to hang around with who have a lot of money coming in –they also will be more inclined to buy you beers than boring company lifers.

14. Sleep whenever you want.

Different people sleep different. For instance, now that I’m in California, I’ve been waking up early in the morning (by California standards), because I used to wake up at 10am in New York. When you have a job, someone else is determining when you wake up. Maybe you’re the kind of person who enjoys staying up until 4am working on projects that matter to you? If you don’t have a job, you totally can.

15. The ultimate ROWE environment.

One of the newest fads in workplace civil rights is the idea of the Results Only Work Environment (or ROWE). My friend Jeffrey F. Tang wrote an article about ROWE here. Well, not having a job is the ultimate ROWE, because the only thing that matters is your results. When you have a job, unless you work at a hip progressive ROWE company, chances are you’re only rewarded for sitting at a desk (6 hours Facebook, 2 hours actual work! Yay!.) Well, some people don’t work well sitting at desks, believe it or not. When you start your own business, only the results matter, no one cares if you get them while plopped in a desk.

16. Work on projects which will change the world.

The most profitable projects, in my experience, are also ones that change the world. When you work at a job, chances are no one really wants you to do any world changing. They just want you to maintain the status-quo. When you don’t have a job, this frees you to work on projects that will change the world. Maybe you want to teach people how to live without their cars, like my friend Tammy Strobel does in her e-book Simply Car-free. Or maybe you want to sew sustainable puppy blankets. The change you make is up to you.

17. You only have to make yourself (and maybe your significant other) happy.

When you have a job, you have to make your boss happy, your colleagues happy, and if you don’t well, then that single source of income we talked about earlier is on the line. When you don’t have a job, the only person you have to make happy is yourself –and possibly your significant other. What I’ve discovered, in my nearly a year of not having a job, is that it’s much easier to make yourself happy when you’re not trying to make everyone else happy at the same time.

18. Prepare your own food.

This is key. When I used to have a job, I’d constantly get food out. I ate at my desk, because I was afraid if I was away for more than 15 minutes all hell would break loose. When you work for yourself, you can also work in your kitchen (which I do often!) This means you can prepare healthy food, that tastes good. You can also make your own coffee (so much better than office coffee.) Making your own hot food while you take a break from work is so much better than packing a lunch and heating it up in the microwave.

19. No waiting for retirement.

Just wait until you’re 65, then you can do whatever you want. Seriously? I think you should do things while you’re young, athletic, and the ladies (or lads) still like you to look at you. Face it, waiting for retirement to get more than 2 weeks of vacation is a crime against your humanity. When you work for yourself, you can retire whenever you want for however long you need — as long as you have the resources. The truth is that we need time off to rejuvenate our ability to live. I like to take weeks at a time when I do very little except Yoga, reading, and wandering aimlessly. You can’t wander aimlessly on a Wednesday morning when you have a job. The funny thing is, the best ideas come when you’re not working for them. Bonus: take a year off every seven years like Stefan Sagmeister does.

20. Time to focus on the important.

When I had a job, I never had enough time to do what was important to me. On the forefront of my mind was always the task at hand at my job, whether or not I actually cared. When you don’t have a job, you can focus on what is important to you. This is different for everyone, as everyone is different.

21. Cool people don’t have jobs anymore.

Face it, it’s so cool to tell people that you’re self-employed. However, it’s not cool to brag about the fact that you have the best hours, a flexible work schedule, and that you get to work on things that matter in front of people who have jobs. Don’t rub it in, the best self-employed rockstars show, they don’t tell.

22. Work from wherever you want.

Today I edited this post from the awesome kitchen in my brand-new apartment in Oakland’s hopping Temescal ‘hood, I wrote most of the post while I was grabbing a coffee over in Rockridge. One of the biggest benefits of working for yourself is that it doesn’t matter where you work. You could be on a beach somewhere, you could be at a coffee shop, you could backpack through India. Location doesn’t matter when you’re living the digital lifestyle.

23. Working for yourself is the best way to approach work in a recession.

Look around you, no important businesses are hiring anymore. Big businesses are hunkered down and waiting for us to come out of this recession. You can either wait until the recession is over to find the job you truly desire, or you can settle for less than the best. The Subway sandwich shop near me is hiring “Sandwich Artists”, but that doesn’t mean you should apply there.

24. Showers in the middle of the day.

This probably goes without saying, but it’s pretty sweet to be able to take a hot shower in the middle of a Monday afternoon. That wouldn’t be possible at a job.

25. Multiple paydays.

When you have a job, all of your income comes from one place, and you know when it comes. This means if the section of the economy where your job is located collapses, your only paycheck is on the line (as mentioned above.) But it also means that you know exactly when you’re being paid. When you don’t have a job, your pay can come from all different directions, and at different times. This replaces the monotony of knowing with the fun uncertainty and improvisation that comes with multiple paydays.

26. You don’t have to sit at a desk under fluorescent lights all day.

Sitting at a desk all day has been proven to be incredibly bad for your health. Some people are incredibly product at desks, but many of us aren’t. I think of most of my ideas when I’m walking. Maybe you think of your ideas while standing on your head. Sitting at a desk all day is just something we do because someone told us to, not because it’s a useful practice.

27. Uncertainty keeps you on your toes.

Jobs seem so certain. You’re protected from the harsh realities of the world in a lot of situations. This can be a good thing, but it also keeps you in the dark. I’m convinced that we grow with uncertainty. It makes us thrive, because we’re constantly adapting and changing our strategies. This means that you’ll never stop learning when you’re working for yourself, as your free to try new things and take new paths.

The reality of the situation is working for yourself is one of the best ways to improvise and ultimately survive in this boom-and-bust economy.

Does that mean that you won’t have to work hard? certainly not. There are no magic ‘get rich in your sleep’ solutions, there is only the hard work that you need to do to set yourself up to leave your job and set out on your own.
I don’t have all of the answers, but I do know that working for yourself is so much better than having a job. Is it for everyone? certainly not. But if you want to pursue a freer reality, this may be the answer you’re looking for

How to look to the left for more sales!

Still looking to figure out why you sales are in the tank at the end of each week?

Look to the left.

Huh?

Look to the left...
it all starts with dedicated prospecting --> then appointments --> then presentations --> then the Sale.

Now look to the left and work your way backward...Where do you need to increase your numbers to get to the sale?

How to Build an Effective List

List building expert John Guanzon
just recently released his club
membership that takes you step
by step on how to create your list
and profit from that list quickly
and easily!

I have already gone through the videos
myself and I found out a a lot of great
tips that I have started implementing in
my business.

And here is the kicker! The concept is simple. As small business people, you do not have a brand name that is known and trusted. So you have to build that before you can monetize. Seems obvious, right? It made since. Follow a proven, simple system and then duplicate it over and over again.

My Question today is this...are we still duplicatable? I personally feel many programs are not. There have been so many new programs or re-invented pay plans come into the direct sales industry over the past 15 years people are more confused now than ever. What are you to believe?

Affiliate marketing - I believe in it because it's very cool but also very time consuming. Your not gonna make big money fast. It will trickle in and over time the dollars will increase but, you have to be very diligent in staying up with all the latest gadgets and apps available for online marketing. I follow a couple marketers regularly and at least weekly they are promoting another new web site for more traffic or more opportunities for branding yourself. Now don't get me wrong...both are very important but, on a limited time schedule due to a full time job and family obligations how is a newbie or even somebody who has been around for awhile supposed to keep up?

Apparently the answer is to invest more money into the upgraded features of all these "tools" and the sites and apps will do more work for you than what you can do on the FREE versions? I'm OK with that to a point. You have to invest in yourself and your business if your going to truly be in business! However, don't nickle and dime me to death!

You want to know how to keep a down line growing? Do you really want to see your business explode??? Can you handle it if it does? OK, here is the secret that you may or may not be getting from your "Up Line" mentor / guru....Work in a simple system that produces a profit quickly and then DUPLICATE it over and over again. Don't let yourself get pulled in twenty different directions with the latest and greatest online or even off line new gadget or tool!

When you can get your "down line" into a a quick profit (NOT FILTHY RICH!!) but a legit quick profit they will stay excited and that energy will continue to flow to other new associates!

WOW!! Is it really that simple.....YES, It is! Stay tuned as I'm going to be talking a lot more about this subject in the near future.

Let's go make some money!

How can I be successful in direct sales?

The Basic Five Step System.

1) Prospecting... Getting failing grades make us realize that we need to study. Debts remind us of our inability to look for a source of income. Being humiliated gives us the ‘push’ to speak up and fight for ourselves to save our face from the next embarrassments. It may be a bitter experience, a friend’s tragic story, a great movie, or an inspiring book that will help us get up and get just the right amount of motivation we need in order to improve ourselves.

With the countless "negativities" the world brings about, how do we keep motivated?
Try these tips from A to Z…

A - Achieve your dreams. Avoid negative people, things and places. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

B - Believe in your self, and in what you can do.

C – Consider things on every angle and aspect. Motivation comes from determination. To be able to understand life, you should feel the sun from both sides.

D – Don’t give up and don’t give in. Thomas Edison failed once, twice, more than thrice before he came up with his invention and perfected the incandescent light bulb. Make motivation as your steering wheel.

E – Enjoy. Work as if you don’t need money. Dance as if nobody’s watching. Love as if you never cried. Learn as if you’ll live forever. Motivation takes place when people are happy.

F – Family and Friends – are life’s greatest ‘F’ treasures. Don’t loose sight of them.

G – Give more than what is enough. Where does motivation and self improvement take place at work? At home? At school? When you exert extra effort in doing things.

H – Hang on to your dreams. They may dangle in there for a moment, but these little stars will be your driving force.

I – Ignore those who try to destroy you. Don’t let other people to get the best of you. Stay out of toxic people – the kind of friends who hates to hear about your success.

J – Just be yourself. The key to success is to be yourself. And the key to failure is to try to please everyone.

K – keep trying no matter how hard life may seem. When a person is motivated, eventually he sees a harsh life finally clearing out, paving the way to self improvement.
L – Learn to love your self. Now isn’t that easy?

M – Make things happen. Motivation is when your dreams are put into work clothes.

N – Never lie, cheat or steal. Always play a fair game.

O – Open your eyes. People should learn the horse attitude and horse sense. They see things in 2 ways – how they want things to be, and how they should be.

P – Practice makes perfect. Practice is about motivation. It lets us learn repertoire and ways on how can we recover from our mistakes.

Q – Quitters never win. And winners never quit. So, choose your fate – are you going to be a quitter? Or a winner?

R – Ready yourself. Motivation is also about preparation. We must hear the little voice within us telling us to get started before others will get on their feet and try to push us around. Remember, it wasn’t raining when Noah build the ark.

S – Stop procrastinating.

T – Take control of your life. Discipline or self control jives synonymously with motivation. Both are key factors in self improvement.

U – Understand others. If you know very well how to talk, you should also learn how to listen. Yearn to understand first, and to be understood the second.

V – Visualize it. Motivation without vision is like a boat on a dry land.

W – Want it more than anything. Dreaming means believing. And to believe is something that is rooted out from the roots of motivation and self improvement.

X – X Factor is what will make you different from the others. When you are motivated, you tend to put on “extras” on your life like extra time for family, extra help at work, extra care for friends, and so on.

Y – You are unique. No one in this world looks, acts, or talks like you. Value your life and existence, because you’re just going to spend it once.

Z – Zero in on your dreams and go for it!!!

We have been discussing the Classic Self Help Book for the past 4 years on
Live Talk Podcasts.

Today's episode fits well in some of the Points made above

http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/audioPop.jsp?episodeId=369930&cmd=apop

Is old school prospecting still cool?

Many people have jumped on the band wagon of Social Marketing and Internet Marketing and with good reason. When done correctly folks it works! But, what about Old School Prospecting? Is there still a place for it in today's high tech world?

I would have to argue there is as I have to use it daily. Let's look at some ideas here you can add to your daily routine when you occasionally pull yourself away from the monitor.

1) Phone calls - Develope a list and call it.
2) Referrals...Are you asking for them with every client?
3) Mailing's...Not e-mail campaigns - Snail Mail with a hand written message!
4) The goods Ole 3 foot rule...Don't stalk them just talk to them.
5) Give away jars...Place in areas that attract your niche prospects
6) Fair or carnival booths...It's about that time of year!
7) Mini Seminars...Set them up with local organizations like the Senior Citizen Group

For more thought's on these "Old " but still effective prospecting tools go to Prospecting 4 Wealth or hit me up for my FREE Monthly News Letter all located on the side bar of this Blog.

Enjoy!!

How do you prospect on the phone?

Phone Phobia! Do you have a fear of the phone when cold calling or even warm calling somebody who has responded to your web site or advertising. There is no magic bullet to fix this folks...you just have to dive in and get through it. However there are techniques and advise that might make it a little less stressful. Here is what I do to over come this issue.

#1 Don't make it personal...You've never talked to this person before and if they blow you off you probably will never talk to them again. Next..move on!!

#2 Once you get started don't stop until you hit your goal or finish your list. Don't take a potty break every 5 minutes! Statistics prove that if you just keep calling your nerves will settle down and you will feel more comfortable as you go. (Takes me talking to about 3 people before I get into the groove)

#3 Be prepared ...Block off time to do your calls and minimize distractions as much as possible. Keep good notes and just be open minded to anything your lead may throw at you. Know what your goal of each call is...Setting an appointment, selling a product or service call?

#4 When setting appointments make sure to confirm there info before hanging up. Real easy to get excited you made an appointment or sale and then forget to ask...Can you confirm your address for me!

#5 Be honest with your self. Building up false confidence can hurt you later when you realize you did a lot of work with no sales attached. Is it a solid appointment where you will make a presentation or are you just dropping off info for a shot at them again later?

Much more to talk about on this subject...Fill out the form on the side bar for my newsletter or just sign up for our weekly training @ Prospecting 4 Wealth.com!

How to meet a new customer?

Saw a great example of how to meet and greet a new customer yesterday. Local restaurant for this example. I have visited two stores recently of this particular food chain and I have noticed that they have really stepped up the front line customer service. How many times have you walked into your local store weather it be fast food, grocery or retail and been greeted with the straight faced "Hello, How can I help you" I'm bored out of my mind but I have to do this attitude? Probably several times a week right?

Ian was our greeter/register man yesterday and he was on the ball. Who ever is doing the training is doing a great job getting these kids to pay attention to how they communicate with the customer who are just there to order a # 4 combo meal. You could tell Ian was very knowledgeable and liked his job. For the first time in a long time I actually saw a counter / register person selling the product..not just taking the order! He was engaged with the customers and not just repeating his script. Yes some of it was scripted as it's a system and you have to stay in the system however he overcame the dull boring "Do you want curly fries with that?" question by being courteous and helpful with information about the items being ordered. Normally a name on a name tag I hardly notice..but because of Ian's great customer service I will remember his name the next time we visit his store.

Great job and a lesson we can all take to heart...First Step in the sales process is to meet and greet weather your doing that over the phone, face to face or even through the use of a web site. Because it's the one area of network marketing that most people today get stuck on....and it's completely avoidable. It answers the question: "How on earth can you work your business 20 hours a week and have nothing to show for it?" The answer may not be what you think! I hope it assists you"

I might add to these thoughts that what Tony describes here is the real work of owning a business. Many of us including myself get easily distracted to the technology side of our business when there really is opportunity all around us daily. Problem is we tend to be procrastinators out of "fear" The three steps described here is where the rubber meets the road and we have to deal directly with an audience or prospect. Learn these basic steps (simple sales skills) and you will be well on your way to a successful business.

Stay Focused!

Making a $100,00 from your business?

Posted this before a few months ago and as I am a stickler for goal setting and keeping things basic I thought you all might enjoy again. (Plus there may be newer members who have not thought about this from this angle.)

How to make $100,00.00 a year:

$100,000.00 divided by 12 months = $8,333 p/month!
$8,333.00 divided by 20 work days in a month = $416.65 p/day!
$416.65 divided by an 8 hour day = $52.08 p/hour!

So when you break it down all you really have to do is rev up your business to produce $52.00 an hour 8 hours a day.

But Jeff, my business is fully automated online...I can make money while I'm sleeping! GREAT!!

So if you factor in $416.65 divided by 24 hours that's only $17.36 an hour for YOU to make $100,000.00 a year! In reality it has become a popular and responsible part of long term planning for a growing number of people.

I soon will be a part of this growing service as I have moved my personal goals of working in the Insurance industry to www.indianamemorialgroup.com - From here I will be able to continue using my license and provide many other opportunities for my clients. I will be working from my home town office at www.everestmemorialpark.com in Logansport, In plus helping out over at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lafayette, In.

After working with mostly the senior population the past few months I see more than ever a need for responsible long term planning. Something as important as funeral arrangements is not what you want your children or family members to have deal with. You personally may not care about a fancy funeral because "you are not going to be there" but in most cases your family does want to give you the final respect and memorial you should have. The emotional side of a family member passing is stressful enough but when you add in the financial responsibilities it can quickly become overwhelming and I urge everybody to consider this with your long term plans at any age...It's not just for Grandpa and Grandma's peace of mind. It's for yours as well.

Much more to come...Stay tuned!

Big decisions...

Getting ready for yet another change in service and product. Entertainment!"

Because there wasn't anything to do in 1959.

But what year is it now?

2010.

In 2010, prospects have:

* cell phones
* text messages
* cable television channels
* email addresses
* Facebook pages
* and hundreds of after-school activities.

Yes, prospects are very busy in 2010.

And if we are still trying to give 30-minute presentations now, we are trying to do business in 2010 with ancient 1959 dinosaur techniques. And we will end up extinct, just like the dinosaurs.

We are swimming uphill.

What can we do?

For today's world, we want to learn how to give a complete and total presentation in one minute.

Then, at the end of our one-minute presentation, the prospect can make an immediate decision. We save time. The prospect saves time.

But what's more important is that, even if our presentation is only one minute, what is our prospect thinking at the end of one minute?

"I can do this!"

The biggest reason prospects don't join is because they can't see themselves doing our business. The one-minute presentation solves that roadblock.

Give it a try. You'll never go back.

And if you don't know how to give a one-minute presentation, you can learn.

For help on your skills, click here:

http://www.MLMFreeMentors.info

To Your Success,

Candace Northington
206.202.0815 anytime
candacenorthington@gmail.com
Skype: candace.northington

Change for the new year....

Thanks to some mentoring from friend and fellow Networker Chuck Bartok among others I came back across a fork in the road that I have wanted to explore for a few years now. I am very excited to say the least that I have been blessed with this opportunity and thank God first and for most for guiding me to this path.

My online activities will change some due to agreements with my parent company but my desire to teach basic sales skills and principles will still be available to any that ask.

For anybody coming across this post wanting to work on there "Sales Skills" or learn more about building a business online and off please continue to get in touch through the following sites.

www.prospecting4wealth.com

You Can Build It!

For any Indiana Readers with questions regarding your Insurance needs I can be contacted @ jeffbeeman247@gmail.com

Developing the business owner mindset...

Here is a challenge many people working ON-Line or in a MLM / Direct Sales opportunity do not even realize they may be facing when they first get started. Do you really have the mind set of a business owner?

The common call to action for most opportunities is to "Join" the business. I think this vocabulary may have started because to many people would shy away from starting there own business. Starting a business requires commitment and money! However if you are asked to join a business well that's not much different than being asked to join the local club or gym. Benefit's of joining a business include some social networking with opportunities to make and save some money!

Once a part of an opportunity the vocabulary changes a little bit and you may be told..Do this to grow YOUR Business. From there it builds as a since of pride and sometimes ego to own your own business. However, In reality you don't own the business you joined...you are an independent representative for that business.

So now what is your identity? Are you just an independent sales associate for this company and if that's true that's fine. In other words is it more just like a part time or even full time job? Or, are you XYZ Company who partners with or is an affiliate of ABC Opportunity?

We are clearly seeing in the MLM / Direct Sales arena people who change there business mindset to being business owners - JOHN SMITH INC and building a real business plan for them selves that when they then use there opportunity as the true vehicle to do business the failure % drops way off.

Yes, there may be as much as a 95% failure rate in the industry but I have to believe it is directly related to the mind set of did you JOIN a Business or Start a business? It's easy to quit if you joined. How may times have you quit a club or gym? However once you make YOU your business it a lot harder to quit yourself!

Want to learn more about developing a business mindset or building your own personal business plan? Time spent with family, time spent on home projects and just letting the Holiday Rush do it's thing. Had a few thoughts here or there for various topics but nothing really that has not been said before ether here or on other networks, BLOGS and Forums. So today's post is just a basic bit of information but something I hope we can use going forward into the new year.

Understanding Marketing:
By Definition - –noun

1.

the act of buying or selling in a market.

2.

the total of activities involved in the transfer of goods from the producer or seller to the consumer or buyer, including advertising, shipping, storing, and selling.

A recent email that I did get sent out over the Holidays talked about the understanding of Network Marketing and what it takes to succeed in that industry. A common blunder I see with so many companies is the fact they are trying to take out the "Marketing" part of the equation and just rely on the "Networking" to provide the revenue.

Hours and hour and hours of comments and arguments have been made in favor and against the whole industry from blog posts to forums to conference calls, video's and pod casts...however I am holding firm to my belief that you have to learn how to "Sell" to make any real money with MLM, Network Marketing, Referral Based Marketing, Direct Selling, Affiliate Marketing or what ever you choose to call it.

Here is my contribution to the industry's little secret. Many marketers try to "sell" you on all the guru, black belt, ninja, Renegade, Blah, Blah , techniques that you can end up blowing your budget on before you get too any real information. They are just hyping up basic sales techniques and dancing around the point to make you feel like your doing something besides...Selling. WHY? Because we have been told over and over and over again that nobody wants to be sold! BAH HUM BUG!!

Look at the definition...For a business to work that definition has to happen and you can cheapen the process all you want with words that make you fell warm and fuzzy but the core definition is still there. Goods and products must move from Producer to Customer and that has to happen through a "sales" process.

This is my opinion so take it or leave it but the logical "hidden secret" that so many seem to keep searching for by jumping from opportunity to opportunity seems to be this. Learn how to sell and then it wont matter what company your with. As long as they have a real product that will provide a real solution to real needs you can sell it and make money!!

Once you learn a basic sales system and develop some solid success habits with in that system the Relationship marketing will come naturally! You will build a bigger organization...your sales volume will grow expediently and NO you wont run out of people to talk too!

Get on my News letter by filling out the form below the RED BUTTON and look for more on this subject in the coming days!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! ...and Happy Selling in 2010!

Does Your Call To Action Need Some Work?

Great thoughts from Zeke Camusio and his blog... http://www.TheOutsourcingCompany.com/blog

One of the most common mistakes I see when I review websites is weak calls to action. Call to actions need to explain what people will get if they decide to take action. “Start My FREE Trial” is a great example of a specific call to action.
* Move away from standard and boring calls to action. Nobody wants to subscribe to anything. People hate subscribing (but they love being “the first one to know”).
* Some power words: free, get, instant, easy, fast, simple, now.
* The word “now” increases conversion rate by about 25% in average.
* The word “FREE”, when capitalized, converts 86% better than its small caps counterpart.
* Capitalizing the first letter of each word increases conversion rates by about 22% in average.

Just so you see that I practice what I preach, here’s my call to action: Please Tweet this Post (Your Followers Will Thank You).

This reminds me of one last thing: giving a reason WHY people should to do what you ask them to drastically increases conversion rates. Explain why they’ll benefit from taking action.

Please share this post on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Let me know if it works OK. Thank you!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

What is a sales script?

Article written by Eric Lofholm:

One of the best ways to increase your sales results is to create powerful sales scripts. When I talk about the concept of a sales script most salespeople frown upon the idea. The truth is, we all use scripts, even you. This often-misunderstood idea can dramatically increase your sales results.

What is a sales script? A script is simply a sequence of words that makes sense. For example the sentence you just read is a script. What isn’t a script is gibberish. It’s word salad. It’s saying things like chair, book, car, dog, computer. These words when spoken in that sequence mean nothing to the listener.
So you are either using a script or you are using gibberish. Now that we agree you are using scripts the real question is how powerful are your sales scripts?

Why do powerful sales scripts work? Powerful scripts work because human beings respond in predictable ways. Here is one of the first scripts I learned.

“If you do what a millionaire does you will get what a millionaire has. If you invest your money where millionaires currently have their money invested, what will you become?”

I have asked this question of over 1,000 people. Every single one of them has always answered a millionaire. Isn’t that powerful? If you didn’t fully grasp the power of the example above let me restate my point.

You can create PREDICTABILITY in your sales presentation. That is what the sales superstars do. They use the same sales scripts over and over again because they work.

Would you like to learn a sales script that generates quality referrals over 95% of the time? I knew you were going to say, “Yes.” How did I know? I knew because human beings respond in predictable ways. Here is the script.

“As you probably know, I work with referrals. A good referral for me is ___ (share with them what a good referral is, for example I say, “a sales manager with six or more people on their sales team). When you think of a good referral think of ___ (jog their memory, for example I say, “other offices in your company, where you have worked in the past). Of everyone you know, who would be the best referral for me?” This sales script produces a quality referral almost every time.

How did I learn about the power of sales scripts?
I was introduced to scripts by my first mentor Danté. I watched Danté deliver his sales presentation over 50 times. Every time he delivered it he said virtually the same thing. He told the same stories and the same jokes. He used the same closes. He handled objections the same every time. Did scripts work for Danté’? He is the only sales person I ever met who drove a Ferrari to work.

I was then trained by one of Dr. Moine's students, named Tony who taught me the psychology behind how to create a script. Dr. Moine, author of Unlimited Selling Power, then trained me & I've been working with him for over 11 years.

What kinds of sales scripts are there? Here is a list of different types of scripts:

1. Objection handling
2. Referral
3. Closing
4. Rapport
5. Identify customer needs
6. Appointment setting
7. Entire sales presentation

The next step is for you to make a list of sales scripts you need to create for your business. Once you have created the list select the most important sales script to complete. Deciding on the right products to sell is one of the main challenges which people starting an Ebay business face.

Products that you can sell on Ebay can be items that you own that you no longer need, or you can buy products and sell them on Ebay at higher prices to make a profit. Buying and selling merchandise for a profit on Ebay is one of the best ways to make money online.

Before you decide on what to sell on Ebay, it’s important that you do some research on the products that are popular and for which there is good demand. By selling only high quality products, you make it easy to make sales and earn profits with your Ebay business.

You can look at Ebay and identify categories that have well-sought after products. You should sell products for which you can get a high number of bids, which indicate high demand. In order to succeed in selling products on Ebay, it is also a good idea that you select a handful of categories and that you focus on selling products in those categories. While looking at the popular categories, you must also assess the prices which the products in these categories sell for. This will give you an idea on what you should pay for the products you buy if you want to make some profits when you sell these products on Ebay.

You can increase the number of products you sell on Ebay by buying items at garage sales. Many elderly people have valuable items that they no longer need and that they offer foe sale. Depending on your interests and skills, you can write e-books on a wide range of topics and sell them on Ebay. You can earn a lot of profits by creating your own digital products because you do not have to pay anyone for these products.

Using drop shipping can also give you a wide range of products to sell. This is a
marketing ploy that will not hugely dent your marketing budget and
will not also require many man-hours in developing this project.

With a newsletter, you can inform the public about your company and
products as well as services. You can keep them posted and updated
about what's going-on with your company as well as many of your
promotions and offerings. With these, you keep on reminding your
subscribers that you are still here and is willing to offer them
good deals and services.

Newsletters also allow you to impress your subscribers. It can show
your expertise and knowledge about the topic at hand and the many
benefits you can offer them. When you impress people, they will
become potential customers and another great thing is that they can
recommend you to their friends, colleagues and family. All of them
could very well be customers in the future.

If you do not have a newsletter or publishing one for your site,
then you may have to consider about researching and be well
informed on how to publish one. It is not as easy as it seems but
if and when you get the right idea and process, it will be smooth
sailing from there on. Try to take the time to learn what you need
to learn and get that newsletter ready and good to attract
subscribers to your newsletter as well as traffic to your site.

In the next few paragraphs, I will provide you with some things to
reflect on when you decide to start your own newsletter for your
site. Here are five things to consider when publishing a newsletter.

1) Make sure that the content of your newsletter pertains to and
closely associated with your business or the theme of your site. Do
not dwell too far on what could be regarded as your field of
expertise. You have started a site and your theme for your site
will always be something you are knowledgeable about. For example;
if you have a site that sells auto car parts, your newsletter must
contain articles or content like photos that pertain to cars, auto
parts and such. You may also include content about your company and
your staff.

Remember that visitors of a certain site are there because they are
interested in what the site has to offer. If they sign up for an
opt-in list or for a newsletter this means that they want to be
updated for that certain theme or subject. Be sure that when you
publish your newsletter you are providing for the need of the
subscriber as well as their interests.

2) Ensure that you have well written, information riddled and
content rich articles. You articles will be the body of your
newsletter and that they should be able to excite your readers as
well as provide information. Articles should be well written and
checked for errors such as spelling and grammatical errors for it
to look professional and believable. The trust of your client to
you and newsletter is at stake here.

3) Fact-check your articles. Make sure that you provide true facts
and figures so that your reputation as an expert and knowledgeable
in that field is not questioned. If you lose the trust of your
subscribers these may persuade them to unsubscribe to your
newsletter. You will lose many potential sales this way.

4) Provide fresh and new articles that can provide new information
to your subscribers. If you publish stale and old news in your
newsletter, there is a tendency that people or your subscribers
already have read and known about them. This will lose their
interest in your newsletter and they wont get to read what is most
important, your ads. They may not open or read any of your
succeeding newsletters losing your intention in writing and
publishing newsletters, to get them to visit your site and make a
purchase.

5) Never use copyrighted materials such as photos and articles.
This is outright plagiarism, you may get into a lot of trouble for
this. You can lose your business and get sued over copyright
infringement. If you do not have the time to write your own
articles, there are many willing and able professional article
writers that can do it for you for a reasonable fee. All your
investment in writing and publishing articles will be well worth it
when you see your list build up and your traffic increasing.

To Your Success,
John Guanzon
www.johnguanzon.com

How to use Twitter for your small business!

Brought to you from powerhomebiz.com

Here are tips on how to effectively use Twitter for your small business:

1. Understand what Twitter is all about. The key to long-term success on Twitter is to view this microblogging platform as a community. While it is a great way to get exposure and even increase traffic to your web site, your success on this platform depends on how you engage your community, dialogue with them and how you make full use of this social networking platform.

2. Set your goals. Determine what you want to accomplish in Twitter and how you want to use it for your business. Some possible uses of Twitter include:

To showcase your knowledge and expertise.
To reach out and connect with other people with similar interests.
To communicate with existing customers.
To generate traffic and backlinks to your site.
To give a “human face” to your business
To post your random thoughts and display your wit and brilliance.

3. Keep on target. Focus on what you want to accomplish. If you want to demonstrate that you are an expert on eBay selling, be consistent and post only tips on how to use eBay. Steer clear of random thoughts and be true to your mission.

4. Plan what you are going to tweet. Decide what you will say on Twitter. Study what other users in your niche are saying, and how you can make your tweets more interesting, informative and engaging. Some ideas on what to tweet:

Articles or blog posts that you have written
Articles, news items or blog posts that may be of interest to your followers
Tips
Quotes
New information about your business and product, including press releases, announcement of events and product features
Offers and discounts
Customer service responses
Post a question to your followers
Comments on what other folks have posted, starting a dialogue with other users

5. Carefully choose your Twitter ID. Look at your Twitter ID as part of your brand. You can use your name, name of your business, or a keyword-rich username

6. Be searchable on Twitter. Make sure that people can find you when they search on Twitter for people with common interests, goals and professions. Study how the users that show in the first page do it – look at the username, as well as the keywords they use for their name and description.

7. Give value. Like any business, success depends on how well you create value. Establish yourself as an authority in your field. If you must post an article or news item that 100 other Twitter users have already posted, tweet the main learning from the article, not just the title.

8. Increase the visibility of your tweets. Even if you have only 100 followers, you can potentially expand the reach of your tweets. Write highly informative tweets (even if that means writing great content on your blog first that you can then tweet) that will attract other users to retweet your post. You can even ask others to retweet your post. Also, make use of the hashtag # symbol in order for your users to be visible to those who are interested in the topic, even if they are not your followers.

9. Get yourself listed in Twitter directories. They may not be as effective in bringing a huge number of followers, but they can be useful in getting targeted followers, or those who are specifically interested in your sector. Good ones include:

WeFollow http://www.wefollow.com
Twellow http://www.twellow.com
Just Tweet It http://www.justtweetit.com
Geofollow http://www.geofollow.com/

10. Use tools outside of Twitter to expand your reach and increase your followers. Some ideas you can try are:

Add your Twitter username to your email signature
Add a Twitter badge to your website or blog
Add Tweetmeme or AddThis to your articles or blog posts

If you use other social media communities such as LinkedIn, Plaxo or Facebook, consider connecting your Twitter account so you can showcase your Twitter feed to your other social network contacts.

Are you Blogging for Fun or Profit?

Are You Blogging For Fun Or To Make Money?

Many people think that since blogging is very easy and fun, one can make money with the blog without any effort.
Although it is true that anyone who is hard working and determined to succeed in making money online can earn a good income through blogging, many bloggers fail to achieve this.

Many people who are starting in internet marketing think that in order to make a lot of money on the internet through blogging, all they need to do is to set up a blog, add content to it on a regular basis and start to get money! You will need to do more than this if you want to make money with your blog.
Outlined below are the key steps that you will need to follow to successfully make money with your blog.

1. Advertise on Your Blog. Adding Google Adsense on your blog is one of the easiest ways to make money with your blog. All you will need to do is to get a Google Adsense account, and Google will place adverts that relate to your blog topic. If your blog visitors visit any of these adverts on your blog, you can earn some money.

2. Create your own products for selling or offer some services.
